About Us

Welcome,

I'm Natalie, owner of Panacea Candle Co. Thank you for taking a moment to learn about this new small business.

I created Panacea Candle Co. after picking up a new hobby during quarantine, go figure. Realizing how much is involved in making candles, I quickly fell in love with the craft and wanted to get better. My first two or three candles were awful. They didn't burn correctly and had absolutely no scent. After that, I invested in the best ingredients I could find and decided to go all in.

A year later, I had something I was truly proud of. I knew the candle I wanted to create was not only beautiful and simple but had a strong scent. I want all my customers to know that if you buy a candle from me, you absolutely will be able to smell it. That is my promise and what goes into every candle I make.

As I started to create scents and name my candles I immediately started to draw inspiration from the things I grew up around .....my grannies front porch, the Florida gulf coast, the Wakulla River...All things that remind me of home seemed to fit perfectly into my ideas for the candles. So when it came to naming the business, I knew my hometown would have to be incorporated.

Panacea, FL is a small coastal town in the North Florida Panhandle on a bay that opens into the Gulf of Mexico. It's really not much of anything now, but back in the late 1800s and early 1900s it was a bustling tourist destination for people from all over the country. Like many places in Florida, there are several natural spring fed pools rich with in minerals. Tourists would come to bathe in the natural healing powers of the springs. This is how the town came to be known as "Panacea" which means "a cure all".

With this notion, I thought this would be the perfect way to tie the history of my hometown in with the business. I like to think that a perfect candle can sometimes be a modern day "cure all", even just for a moment.

I hope you enjoy our candles!

My very best,

Natalie
